FACADE
Some stories take longer than others to unfold, their pace determined by circumstances beyond immediate control, leaving them suspended, unfinished, until everything finally aligns and the magic happens.
The facade of the Bvlgari flagship store in Los Angeles is one such story, one that began years ago with a visionary creative intuition. Taking the New York flagship facade design as a starting point, the concept was elevated and pushed further, stressed until it became nearly intangible, almost invisible. From this vision emerged our work on the glass facade: an active, pulsating filter between interior and exterior, light yet present, interactive and decisive in defining the architectural identity of the space.
The lighting was designed to be perfectly invisible, seamlessly integrated into the structure by embedding itself within the constructive details. This approach creates a layered depth of reading that is both dynamic and flexible. Point-by-point control of this luminous grid allows for precise calibration of colour, intensity, and movement, giving life to a skin that is perpetually renewed while remaining profoundly authentic, coherent, and perfectly aligned with the brand’s identity.
Development and engineering proved to be a crucial and delicate phase. No detail was left unexplored or insufficiently studied. Only through extensive testing and mock-ups did we arrive at the impeccable realization of the work.
This layered approach, drawing on specialized expertise born from that initial creative spark, combined with tenacity and perseverance, has led to the completion of an extraordinary, distinctive, and decidedly innovative work.
