Lighting Design as a strategic advantage in contemporary architecture

November 24th, 2025

We were honored to be guests of Signify at their headquarters in Eindhoven for the two-day 2025 European Summit, an enriching exchange of ideas and knowledge.
Luca Carapezzi, Project Manager at Metis Lighting, presented our experience as lighting designers in a session that explored our typical approach to projects, with particular emphasis on the complexity and aesthetic sophistication of façade lighting design—in high-rise buildings, as well as infrastructures and retail flagship facades.

The summit provided a valuable opportunity for reflection and dialogue on the evolving role of the lighting designer within the broader design process. We discussed how productive collaboration with all stakeholders can be cultivated, ensuring outcomes that are not only excellent and innovative, but also genuinely meaningful. Central to our discussions was the critical relationship between designers and luminaire manufacturers: we explored how maintaining exceptional quality standards in production is essential to meeting the commitments made to clients and architects at a project’s inception.

Through these conversations, we strengthened relationships and advanced our shared vision of establishing a virtuous cycle, one in which every professional contributes their expertise while respecting the competencies of others, ultimately elevating the entire design ecosystem.
