invisible light

Ten years of Qatar Airways Lounges

June 10th, 2025

A project that unfolded like a concert, a polyphony, an extraordinary work by a large and diverse team led by ACPV Architects. Light, integrated from the very first detail, allowed us to give the spaces a special rhythm—rich yet subtle, essential yet complex.

In major corporate and public projects, designing illumination correctly and with care is of vital importance, not only to give identity to the space and enhance its atmosphere, but also to guide guests through the environments, effectively show pathways, define areas, and create privacy where required.

The Qatar Airways lounges feature a distinctive material palette that the lighting design followed and celebrated in different ways: grazing light on surfaces, integrated illumination in millwork features and walls as well as ceilings, diffuse light through decorative lamps, interplay of shadows, contrasts, and transparencies.

Given the complexity of this undertaking and the visual requirements of the different areas, it was necessary to design various custom products, all truly exceptional, whose characteristics you can explore in depth on the dedicated pages.
